Here are a few different options that might be right for you.

Working with the Police

Many people choose to get a job in law enforcement with their degree in computer forensics. It’s also a good idea to have a degree in criminal justice, as this will help you to land a better job in some cases. You can work on everything from fraud, sex crimes, theft, and murder when you work for the police. It will be nice to know that you are making a difference.

Working with the FBI

While the FBI is another area of law enforcement, you will find that the technology and the equipment that the agents use in their computer forensics labs is quite sophisticated. You can work on a number of different types of cases when you join the FBI’s forensics team, and you have the satisfaction of knowing that your job is going to be interesting.

Private Company

You have the option of working for a corporation too. In many cases, these jobs are going to pay better than the governmental jobs. You could work on intellectual property theft, cases involving corporate espionage, and more. It’s also possible to work as a consultant on your own, and this can garner an even higher paycheck.
