Computer Forensics Internships

Most employers in the computer forensics field will be looking for some experience in newly hired examiners. How do you get this experience? Many law enforcement agencies and corporate consulting firms offer computer forensics internships to college students. Internship information can be found on the website for the particular employer or agency.

Interns are usually asked to complete support and research tasks for the particular agency or company. They are exposed to a real computer forensic lab environment, and, have an opportunity to work amongst other more experienced examiners. Internships are usually awarded during the summer and typically last 2 ½ to 3 months. However, some agencies and companies offer longer internships during other parts of the year.
